Little Boston Road Pedestrian Facility

Hart Crowser provided a wetland and stream delineation for the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe’s multi-use trail project. Our biologists conducted field delineations of stream ordinary high water marks and wetland boundaries using the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Wetlands Delineation Manual. Three streams and seven wetlands were delineated within the study area. Wetland biologists evaluated field conditions by walking through the entire study area. For each location that appeared to have potential wetland characteristics, data on dominant plant species, soil conditions in data plots, and evidence of hydrologic conditions were recorded. The boundaries of the wetland were geographically located during our field investigation using a Trimble GeoXH sub-meter global positioning system (GPS) unit. The ordinary high water marks (OHWM) of the streams were also determined and a GPS unit was used to collect location information of flags hung at the OHWM. Maps of the streams and wetlands were generated using ArcGIS.
