Freedom's Path Building

Hart Crowser provided geotechnical design for a four-story low-income apartment building with a 15,000-square-foot footprint and two parking lots for homeless and disabled veterans at the Veterans Affairs Vancouver campus. The site-specific investigation included advancing a series of drilled borings and conducting in situ infiltration testing. The geotechnical project team evaluated liquefaction potential, settlement potential, infiltration design, pavement design, and foundation alternatives. Cost-effective spread footings were recommended with supplemental gravels pads required only for heavy building loads. Hart Crowser provided geotechnical construction observation and testing services, including field evaluations of footings, subgrades, utility trench backfill, baserock, and pavements.
