Del Amo Pipeline Excavation

California

At the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s request, two 300 linear foot segments of pipelines were exposed adjacent to a boundary at the Del Amo Superfund Site and Hart Crowser was tasked with developing a comprehensive Work Plan/Health and Safety Plan for the EPA’s approval. Our personnel were on site during excavation operations and provided overall health and safety monitoring, as well as collecting soil samples as dictated by soil conditions (soil staining, elevated PID readings, and at the direction of the EPA). We also ensured that the conditions stated in WCPL’s South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) Rule 1166 Contaminated Soil Excavation Plan were followed.
