Chinook Winds Brownfield

We have completed a number of EPA-funded projects under a King County Brownfields Contract. Each project is unique in terms of technical and regulatory requirements but the one thing in common is that they are all being completed to benefit the community. Typically, prior to completing environmental site activities, our documents (Sampling Analysis Plan, Quality Assurance Project Plan, etc.) are reviewed and approved by the EPA. The Chinook Wind project was completed on behalf of King County and the City of Tukwila to help with the purchase of property to be incorporated into a Duwamish River habitat restoration area. Our scope of work included completing Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments prior to the purchase of the property.

Key Accomplishments:

  • Completing a timely Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessment that allowed King County to negotiate a fair price for the property that included a thorough evaluation of all environmental concerns.
  • Developing a remediation plan that was Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA)-compliant, cost effective, and met the strenuous construction schedule.
