Janice Marsters, Ph.D., P.E., LEED A.P., FACEC - Senior Principal, Environmental Engineer
Janice’s clients consider her a trusted advisor who seeks innovative ways to address their challenges. She has nearly 30 years of consulting and business management experience in Hawai‘i. Janice joined Hart Crowser, a leading environmental and geotechnical engineering company headquartered in the Pacific Northwest, in 2005 to lead the firm’s first Hawai‘i office. Following Haley & Aldrich’s acquisition of Hart Crowser in 2021, Janice has continued to play a key role in the growth of the company’s operations in Hawai‘i and the Pacific.
Janice has extensive experience in stormwater consulting, environmental planning and permitting, investigation and sampling design, regulatory compliance, and Pacific island geology and hydrogeology. She has provided consulting services for many project types, including transportation, waterfront, building, and utility infrastructure, and has managed environmental and geotechnical investigation and design services for hundreds of design-bid-build and design-build projects in Hawai‘i, the Pacific, and the U.S. West Coast. Janice excels at managing long-term environmental compliance programs and has provided stormwater consulting expertise to municipalities, state agencies, construction contractors, and private landowners as they grapple with increasing stormwater regulation.
Janice has served in leadership roles for professional organizations including the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC-HI), Hawaii Association of Environmental Professionals (HAEP), and was Chair of ACEC’s national Risk Management Committee. She is the current Chair of the Industry Advisory Council at the University of Hawai‘i, College of Engineering, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
