Geotechnical Engineer Intern

Hart Crowser, Inc. is a multi-disciplinary earth and environmental consulting firm. Our staff of engineers and scientists provide a wide range of services, from initial site studies through regulatory permitting, design, and construction oversight. We are pleased to announce an opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineer Intern to join our Seattle Geotechnical group for this summer.

The successful candidate will have completed their B.S. in Civil Engineering or Geological Engineering and be enrolled in a M.S. Geotechnical Engineering program. Working under the direction of an engineer, duties for this position may include: performing geotechnical field exploration and sample collection, construction monitoring, assisting with subsurface data analysis, engineering computations, and report writing.

This individual must possess strong communications skills and be equally comfortable working with contractors at construction sites and participating in project meetings. Proficiency with MS Office Suite is required; experience with geotechnical software programs is a plus.

The responsibilities of this position may involve extensive fieldwork and possibly some travel. Prior field experience, including working on a drill rig, and interest in environmental projects is a plus. The ability to lift 50 pounds and have a current drivers’ license with good driving record is required. As a condition of employment, the successful candidate must be able to provide documentation of eligibility to work in the US.
