Join us as a Geotechnical Engineer at Hart Crowser, Inc. in Seattle, Washington. You will be part of the team responsible for the geotechnical engineering of the world’s longest floating bridge, highest mechanically stabilized earth wall in the Western Hemisphere, world’s largest diameter soft-ground bored tunnel, and many of the tallest buildings in the Pacific Northwest. Headquartered in Seattle, you will be living in one of the most beautiful, vibrant, and fastest-growing cities in the country, working on commercial development, industrial development, transportation, infrastructure, and port/harbor projects.The successful candidate for our Geotechnical Engineer position will possess an MS in Geotechnical Engineering and 0- to 5-years of experience. Engineer-in-Training license with ability to obtain Professional Engineer license in 3- to 4-years is desirable. Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Geotechnical engineering calculations and analyses;
  • Seismic hazard evaluations – including 1D and 2D dynamic modeling, performance based seismic design with PSHA, and 3D numeric modeling;
  • Geotechnical report writing;
  • Geotechnical field exploration and sample collection;
  • Geotechnical construction monitoring;
  • Utilization of one of the most advanced geotechnical labs in the Pacific Northwest; and
  • Participation in client meetings and presentations.

This position involves fieldwork and some travel; while work will primarily be within the Pacific Northwest, the ability to travel and work in remote areas throughout the US, the Pacific Islands region and internationally is necessary. The ability to lift 50 lbs. and have a current drivers’ license with a good driving record is required.
