Santosh Landfill Wetland Determination and Compensatory Wetland Mitigation Plan

Oregon Department of Environmental Quality
Scappoose, Oregon

Hart Crowser delineated an area of low-quality wetland within a 2,000-acre, high-quality wetland complex on a landfill berm. We also prepared a wetland determination and compensatory mitigation plan for state and federal approval. The mitigation plan included vegetation and hydrologic enhancements, which were implemented upon approval by the regulatory agencies. Currently, we provide annual monitoring of the enhanced wetland to ensure its long-term maintenance and success.

Kimberly-Clark Peninsula Wetland Delineation and Mitigation Plan

City of Everett/Port of Everett
Everett, Washington

Hart Crowser delineated and categorized four Category IV wetlands formed on previously placed dredged material on City property on the Kimberly-Clark peninsula. We documented wetland findings to allow placement of Snohomish River dredging spoils as part of the US Army Corps of Engineers waterway maintenance, and drafted a mitigation plan to compensate for filling the low-quality wetlands.

SCORE Critical Area Delineation, Mitigation, and Permitting

South Correctional Entity
Des Moines, Washington

Hart Crowser completed a critical area investigation (wetlands, streams, and steep slopes), infiltration studies, an environmental mitigation plan, an as-built report, and vegetation monitoring for a new regional jail facility in south King County. Our critical area study documented on-and off-site conditions including seasonal and perennial waterways, slope stability, and wetlands. We prepared an environmental mitigation plan to compensate for temporary and permanent impacts caused by a stormwater outfall facility and sanitary sewer connection. We prepared environmental documentation and permits including hydraulic project approval, Section 401 and Section 404 for nationwide permitting, joint aquatic resource permit application, and state environmental policy act compliance documents. We also developed construction-level drawings for project implementation. We are currently conducting annual vegetation monitoring to comply with permit requirements.

Springbrook Creek Wetland Mitigation Bank

Washington State Department of Transportation
Renton, Washington

Hart Crowser provided biological, hydrologic, and geotechnical services for a project to turn 130 acres of land into a wetland mitigation bank. This is the largest urban wetland bank in the state, equal to 98 football fields in area. Our biologists identified native wetland plant species appropriate for differing water elevations, and helped to ensure that spawning populations of coho salmon, cutthroat trout, and winter steelhead would not be negatively impacted.

On-call Wetland Services

City of Auburn
Auburn, Washington

Hart Crowser provided wetland services under an on-call contract with the City of Auburn for wetland services. Our work involved wetland delineations for road and sewer line projects; wetland mitigation plans; obtaining permits from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Washington Department of Ecology, and Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife; and mitigation monitoring and annual reports.

North Ramp Wetland Delineation

NPCH, LLC
Paine Field, Snohomish County, Washington

We performed wetland delineation and categorization of seven wetlands at the Snohomish County Airport. We documented wetland presence, extent, classification, functional analysis, site conditions, and impacts analysis for a commercial development project Additionally, we assisted the client with permit applications for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Washington State Department of Ecology, as well as performing an Effects Analysis of Critical Habitat, regarding Endangered Species presence.
