King Abdullah Financial District

Hart Crowser provided geotechnical and hydrogeologic design for the first two parcels under construction at the King Abdullah Financial District in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The site required design of shoring, foundation, and dewatering design for deep excavations in fractured limestone. Hart Crowser recommended specific foundation preparation and testing requirements, and planned for a long term rise in the water table. Over time about 50 million square feet of mixed use space will be developed as part of the KAFD.

 

Bellevue Place Expansion/Hyatt Regency

Hart Crowser provided geotechnical services during design and construction of the second Hyatt Regency tower at Bellevue Place. The 22-story tower has five levels of underground parking. We used information from our design work for the original Bellevue Place high rise as well as other nearby structures to provide cost-effective design recommendations.

 

Russell Investments Center Tower

Our work won an award from the American Society of Civil Engineers Seattle Section due to innovative approach and success in overcoming difficult site conditions. Hart Crowser provided geotechnical engineering and seismic design for this 42-story office tower (formerly the WAMU Tower) and 12 floors of expansion space for the Seattle Art Museum.

 

2200 Westlake

This 137,000-square-foot residential/commercial project is on the edge of a historic valley that was filled in as part of the Denny Regrade project at the turn of the 20th century. As a result, ground conditions one side of the project were different from the other side. Our engineers’ geotechnical design accommodated this and other challenging conditions.

 

 

Lincoln Square High Rise Buildings

These new buildings are among several projects Hart Crowser has been working on in downtown Bellevue. Hart Crowser’s expertise in soil nail shoring design was particularly valuable for the design of six floors of underground parking in this urban setting.
