Hart Crowser provided geotechnical services for the Seattle Center Opera House. The 295,000-square-foot hall includes a 2,900-seat auditorium, a 400-seat Lecture Hall, a café, a five-story Grand Lobby, and a 17,800-square-foot public plaza.
Performing Arts Center Eastside (PACE)
Belleuve, Washington
This 2,000-seat performing arts center is due to open in 2010. The 135,000-square-foot structure will have five underground levels, including three levels of parking. The parking structure will adjoin an existing parking garage, and the building and excavation will extend to within a few feet of the property limits, which has meant careful planning and design to protect the adjacent property and structures.

The project involved renovation of the theatre at Seattle Central Community College. The geotechnical work required careful monitoring of the adjacent alley and buildings during excavation because of their proximity. We also conducted a Phase I environmental site assessment of the property.
